Alastair King

Alastair originally qualified as a solicitor and practiced with Baker & McKenzie in London and in Asia. He moved into venture capital/private equity with NewMedia Spark (now Spark Venture Management) and then, with a small investor group, took control of Galahad Capital PLC which became a successful publicly quoted investment vehicle, with Alastair as Managing Director. He then founded Glendevon King Limited, a fund management company, and Eredene Capital PLC, an AIM-quoted investment company specialising in Indian Infrastructure projects prior to starting Naisbitt King Group. Alastair also has an MSc in Finance from London Business School.
Gregory Pritchard
Chief Executive
A chartered accountant by profession, Greg has carried out many senior strategic roles for major international financial services companies in the areas of finance, internal audit and risk management. He established small cap stock broker, Gradient Advisory Ltd, which was sold to a group of Middle Eastern investors in the late 2000s. He was the founding partner of compliance consultancy, CPA Audit LLP, which was sold to the Laven Group early in 2019. Greg has been involved with CAL investments since the early 2000’s, and aspires to provide a broad range of services to the investment community, including a platform to kick start fledgling investment managers to establish themselves independently in this space.
Martin Smetsers
Head of Risk Management
Martin is our Chief Investment Officer and has over 45 years experience in the financial services sector. He has worked for a number of different corporations including Merrill Lynch, DLJ/Thomson McKinnon, Geldermann Inc, Prudential Bache Securities, Locke Brokers and Citigroup/Smith Barney. His career has principally focused on the trading of global instruments, including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, bullion, commodities and their derivatives.
Philip Pooley
Head of Client Services
Experienced financial services professional, having built and exited his own corporate finance and broking company in 2013. Skilled in securities, asset management, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), trading and financial Structuring. Phil also serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of various UK technology companies. Based in London and responsible for the commercialisation of Talbot Capital.
